The London Times, quoting from Gregory Paul's paper (pdf) in the Journal of Religion and Society:
In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies.
The United States is almost always the most dysfunctional of the developing democracies, sometimes spectacularly so.
I'm not sure why this is news; the paper was first published online back in 2005. You might even recall some of the many compelling arguments that were lodged contra, such as this one by the comparable Tucker Carlson: "This, it seems to me to defy common sense." Reality has a way of doing that to those who haven't been paying attention.
